Review of Ghost in the Shell (1995) by Daniel%20 S — 05 Mar 2017
This film is what brought anime to the masses, especially in America. This complex masterpiece has a lot to take in, but there's a theme of identity that remains prominent throughout. There's one idea that humans are now plugged in to a network, raising questions of control.
Another touches on the idea of overcoming the limits of your own identity. These marks of thoughts are implemented alongside the impressive animation. We get both amazing action and dream sequences as a result.
The dark sci-fi film endures in the legacies of modern films, as well as providing social commentary on what the future may hold for planet Earth.
