Review of Ghost in the Shell (1995) by Alessandro F — 30 Mar 2017
I know everyone loves it and it is considered to be a masterpiece, but I honestly felt like 'Ghost in The Shell' lacked the more serious exploration of the philosophical themes it introduces that I was expecting.
The Blade-Runner-esque setting and the animation are visually stunning as well as the action scenes, which are half of the movie, and relly help keeping tension high. Anyway, I felt that throughot the film we were exposed to too much information about what was going on, and this coupled with the extremely fast pace made it kind of difficult to completely follow the story.
I can still see why it is considered a groundbreaking anime though.
