Review of Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) by Christine B — 08 Feb 2008
HIGHLY RECOMENTED!
This is the best FOREST WHITEKER'S film, in my opinion. And made 8 years ago! THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST ACTING I' VE SEEN EVER. including huge cinema legends -hope to be forgiven for saying this- like Robert De Niro, Dasting Hoffman and Al Patchino.
Forest whiteker has taken the Method Studio's acting tradition that we inherited from the above screen gods, and has uplifted it to a higher form. Something in the sphere of a tangible spirit world.
The TITLE sounds like a cheap fighting movie, I KNOW, but ITS NOTHING LIKE IT.
Its a story about the absolute freedom one can get by keeping 100% of his dignity.
And I m not talking about the end of the movie, but about the ghost dog's (forest witecker) way of living. with respect for what he really likes in life.
