Review of Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) by Dylan C — 20 Dec 2012
The best kind of film: One that tells a familiar story with unique twists and utilization of various philosophies, all through an impactful mixture of cultural diversity and loving homage to films past.
Every bit as good as its template, Le Samourai, and able to stand on its own as a competently written and directed film. Mr. Jarmusch has stunned me yet again with his ability to take a genre premise and come up with something thrillingly original and provocative.
