This movie has really intense, but well captured, battle scenes. The aspect I found interesting is that I found myself enjoying the Confederate cast more than the Union. Perhaps that's the acting, and both sides are really well acted.
I think this is Tom Berenger's best acting. Also Martin Sheen does a very excellent Robert E. Lee.
