Review of Getaway (2013) by Fawn O — 29 Oct 2014
'Getaway', with prevailing two-dimensional characterization (a foul-mouthed, too-smart-for-her-own-good, Selena Gomez sidekick and a why-does-everything-happen-to-nice guy, Ethan Hawke protagonist), is 90 minutes of incoherent editing, monotonous action, and tedious dialogue that will probably satisfy any action buff's craving for excessive fast-paced destruction to the same degree decaf might satisfy an addict fiending for caffeine; it appears to be, and even tastes somewhat like, coffee but without the desired effects. 'Getaway' was cheap, anticlimactic, and frivolous.
