Review of Get Out (2017) by Practiced — 05 Mar 2017
We all know the racial tensions going on in our society today and this film does a good job of waking that line. The film, while starred by African Americans and having one that ultimately is the hero, tries to keep an even balance to make all audiences happy.
As a white male and one that has conservative political views I wouldn't say the film is as racist as some reviewers say. I get it, black people can be racist too. But this film never really came across as racist in any sort of way.
For those who aren't happy - is it that bad for there to be a black male who is the star of the film? The main actor was excellent and again he stayed neutral on the whole race thing. Anyways moving past that, this is my first review on here and made an account for this specifically.
The film was good but definitely not worth the critical acclaims. It was fun to watch but at times it could be slow. Peele did an alright job and that's why I'm giving this a 7. I feel like the only reason why this was rated so highly on Rotten Tomatoes is because the main actor is African American and Hollywood is showing their liberal bias.
Look, he was great but the film itself was not worth the critical acclaim. The supporting cast was sort of lousy which really overshadows his rperformance. This isn't a must-see like it's played up to be but it's a good film to watch.
Won't be an all time great.
