The life of James Brown cannot be contained in a single film. If you make one, it has to be a greatest hits package. Chadwick Boseman captures the spirit of the man and Dan Ackroyd does a nice job as his manager.
The film hits the two highlights of the man's life--his performance at the Apollo and the performance in Boston after Dr King's assassination that prevented a riot in the city.
