Get On Up is a fascinating mess. Chadwick Boseman and Nelsan Ellis are great in their roles and the music is well done. But the narrative and plot structure, along with the occasional breaks of the 4th wall are so bad that it really makes what could have been a great biopic of James Brown into only an okay version.
