The brilliance of this film snuck up on me. I sat in the cinema and watched it and thought it was ok. Then I came out and thought it was good. Then I walked home and by the time I got home I thought it was very good.
Then I thought about it some more and came to the conclusion it was very, very good indeed. There's so much food for thought in the story that it should keep the little grey cells going for a while yet.
Bill Murray was the reason I went to see this film but he delivers a quite untypically subdued performance. This is because Robert Duval is quite simply awesome as the mad old hermit.
