Nobody want to poo-poo on Duvall, but Schneider obviously had a tough time wrangling in the oddities in his performance he sometimes can deliver. Bill Murray has his moments, but nobody is saving the screenplay from it's funeral pace (pun intended).

We are teased with a mystery that has holed up Duvall these many years, and when we finally (finally!) learn what it is, it's not anything surprising. He had a tragic moment with a long, lost love.

Yeah, figured. Everyone at the funeral (party) looks bored to tears, and so are we.
