Set in the Appalachian south in the 1930s, an eccentric and misunderstood hermit hires an unscrupulous funeral director to help him throw a rollicking funeral party - while he is still alive. As the party take shape and the buzzards gather, hoping for a share of the man's inheritance, the dark secrets of his past will come to light.
A very funny and poignant film that never becomes corny. Bill Murray and Robert Duvall give great performances in the leading roles.
