Review of Get Low (2010) by Josh S — 21 Oct 2011
Robert Duvall at 79 is in fine form as the curmudgeonly recluse with a great idea - he wants to have his funeral while he's still alive. He doesn't waste a word or a gesture as he makes us care about him, even when he's being a son-of-a-bitch.
His final speech alone makes the film worth watching. His costar is no slouch either. Bill Murray can serve up even the flattest line for a laugh with his deadpan meets the-cat-who-swallowed-the-canary delivery.
Few movies are this graceful.
