Duvall, Spacek and Murray are all outstanding. This is a slow burn which feels like it is leading up to something cathartic and magical, making it a thoroughly enjoyable watch. However the ending fails to pack the punch it seems to promise the whole way though and as a result its not quite the brilliant piece of cinema it could of been.
Duvall is fantastic though.
