May not be a great movie, but it sure pushes the right buttons for me. Perhaps it is my enjoyment of movies dealing with vengeance and atonement, and this movie has both. I am pretty certain it is worth more than the dismal ratings it seems to have generally gotten.
It is stylishly directed and I think well acted. Remaking a great film is often thankless, but this one was worth the effort.
