Two pretty boys get lost in a very pretty (but distractingly changeable) desert. Basically Waiting for Godot with boys, sand and hardly any dialog. There's a hypnotic quality to their endless walking but I think most people would be bored out of their gourds.

The most interesting aspect is that Matt Damon and Casey Affleck co-wrote it with Gus van Sant. What can they have been thinking? It's possible to read homoeroticism into the relationship between the two boys although there is nothing explicit (unless you count the climactic scene) -- they never even take their shirts off! Perhaps it could be enjoyed as a metaphor for insanity, indeed folie a deux? The dedication, at the end, is to Ken Kesey.
