Review of Geri's Game (1997) by Henrik S — 25 Feb 2010
Unfortunately, Geri was quickly forgotten among those avant-garde Pixar characters. Back in 1998, I remember the elder youth being extremely amused and even heart-moved in my movie theater. Nowadays, the old-aged protagonist is dead... metaphorically speaking. Nevertheless, Geri's Game is Pixar's last great short and a reminder of the senselessness of our weak condition. Oh, how banal hobbies can be, but undeniably uplifting, like good old-school emotional escapists. Sing me up for playing chess against him! He can't play alone.
85/100.
