This adaptation of Stephen King's novel about a woman being stranded in a cabin in the woods is more original than it sounds. Mike Flanagan's direction keeps the film's suspense moving between current day and flashbacks so hauntingly that it feels like pure hell for Carla Gugino's character.
There is one extremely gruesome scene that may make you feel nauseous or pass out.
