After great successes like Hush and The Haunting of Hill House, I knew I had to watch Mike Flanagan's critically acclaimed Stephen King adaptation and I wasn't disappointed. Gerald's Game is a striking suspenseful thriller anchored by a terrific lead performance from Carla Gugino.
Without her brilliant performance this film wouldn't have been as effectively unsettling and disturbing as it was. Having said that, Gerald's Game is not a pleasant viewing experience and not one I would wish to revisit.
