Review of Gerald's Game (2017) by Noel M — 08 Oct 2017
"Gerald's Game" - A Netflix original of a Steven King 1992 best-selling book. The film follows a man and woman taking a weekend away to rekindle their troubled marriage. When the husband wants his wife to enter into a role play after handcuffing her to the bed, and she refuses ... the real games begin. Gerald (the husband) suffers a heart attack, and the wife is left to battle real and imaginary demons of her present and her past.
This is a very adult suspense thriller that is truly driven by the characters. Solid and challenging acting and a very difficult story to watch at times (psychology and visually). This is they type of film that could work as a stage-play as well as a film. I'm giving the King adaptation a "B" rating.
