Review of Georgia Rule (2007) by Erik G — 24 Jan 2012
I once thought 'Georgia Rule' isn't going to be great, but when I finally watched it, I thought the movie's pretty good. The rebellious Rachel was sent to her grandmother's house, by her mom Lilly, following a recent car crash back in San Francisco.
Her fury, plus a false buried family secret, is understandable by all in the Idaho town, and grandmother Georgia understands it. 'Georgia Rule' has a good drama storyline, and there's lots of good acting from stars like Cary Elwes, Dermot Mulroney, Felicity Huffman, Garrett Hedlund, and the two-time Oscar winning, world-famous Jane Fonda.
Oh yes, and I can't forget Lindsay Lohan, which is her first acting role in an R-rated film (or second if 'Bobby' counts). I like Lindsay's acting, for that the rebellious personality of Rachel's character perfectly matched those in her real life.
Speaking of that, I can never forget that 'Georgia Rule' first entered real-life headlines in 2006 when director Gary Marshall sent LL a scathing letter for appearing late at the movie set every day and blamed it on her "exhaustion caused by partying".
But let's forget about this stupid celebrity gossip and the paparazzi that messes up the actress's image, because I'm sure Lindsay (and her Rachel character) learned her life lessons both in and out of the movie set.
