Review of Genius (2016) by Kong L — 26 Aug 2016
For one who has not read many books, enough to count on a single hand, this film has truly inspired. Many who see things in such a precise way may not see the beauty behind it's majestic walls, for a film like this is meant to be captured in the heart, not by some critic.
Although some may say it sways from the true story, I say it tells a story of its own. One of love, care, and understanding. You see a man who deeply understands the struggle of man, who undoubtedly puts others before himself, and another who is trying to find his place while tormented by his past.
The lessons learnt could potentially change a man. This isn't just about a writer and an editor, it is about a friendship and loyalty. Even if sometimes it may seem to falter, in the end a lesson is learnt and the regrets and understanding of a single purpose is seen.
For this, just like life, is something that must be seen from the heart, not ones mind. I strongly recommend this to the open minded, so that you may feel the emotions that this film brings to your very screen.
