Review of Genius (2016) by Riff J — 24 Aug 2016
This is an under-rated movie. I'm a sucker for period pieces and this movie successfully channels the reader to a place in the 1930's. Sure the ending could've used a bit more, something or other.
But the tale of the author(s) and Maxwell Perkins in a great one. The relationship between Wolfe and Perkins is especially strong, and ends up transforming Perkins into a new man. Unfortunately chaos reigns supreme at the end, leaving the 2 shocked and devastated (not to mention the viewer, given that they didn't know how this story would end).
Overall very good movie.
