Review of Gender Wars (2015) by Christian N — 18 Jan 2018
This story just felt so formulaic that I simply could not love this story. Plus the fact that often the King vs Riggs seemed almost secondary to King and her personal life. I understand it is a big part of who she was but I really had no strong interest in this part of the film and the absence of Steve Carrell was noticeable.
Though the ending credits indicated that this was more important then the tennis match and that's fine to go that way but it wasn't what I watched for. Seemed more of a message for us 2017 viewers with the finger wagging then really bringing out the time period.
Ah well.
