Review of Gattaca (1997) by Kinhung C — 15 Jan 2011
"One of the world's finest films". - Ryan Brown.
(hilarious) Jokes aside, this is a pretty insightful little science fiction film. The eventual solving of the murder feels a little tacked on and when the brothers swim at the end is a little sappy (although does have a great line, "You wanna know how I did it? This is how I did it Anton. I never saved anything for the swim back.") And I found it difficult to believe that Vincent never recognized his older brother (while it certainly made sense the other way around). I'm also not sure why Jude Law does what he does at the end, and while he does leave all that blood and urine for Vincent, he forgets that there were several times he actually had to be himself to help Vincent.
