Review of Gattaca (1997) by Patrick-Thomas G — 22 Jul 2010
This film proves the point that hard work and will power can overcome superior genetics. It is about a dystopian future society where people are judged by the genetic stock that they come from, and where "natural birth babies" grow up to be second class citizens.
The relationships, character dynamics, and great writing make this a science fiction film that should not be missed. The performances by Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, and Jude Law are all incredible. The atmosphere is almost a retro looking future, which I find fascinating.
The overall cast of this movie of such a high caliber that the film really couldn't help but be great. I really enjoy this movie and would recommend it to anyone who has not seen it.
