Review of Gattaca (1997) by Tina D — 14 Jul 2010
Quite a unique film with a great story. I think the idea could have been done slightly better but it's still a great film that is a must watch for all sci:fi fans. I suppose the acting might seem slightly wooden and maybe that's what was lacking. I suppose the director wanted it to be that way to show how the future would be? Maybe more depressing because of how humans are chosen now by their better genes compared to the bad ones.
It reminds me slightly of equilibrium in the way the film shapes up and the mood of it as well as the acting. The story have been touched on before by a few films but not in this way. Either I enjoyed the film too much or it's quite short because it flew by without me realizing how long I had been watching it for and that's mostly because it was that good.
