Review of Gaslight (1940) by Darryl C — 27 Mar 2008
I never got cukor's gaslight. even though I love his work as I do the work of all the actors in the cast, I just never got it. in fact, I use to laugh at bergman's last scene with boyer tied to the chair.
but when I saw angel street, I got it! walbrook is more chilly and removed than boyer and wynward is much more delicate in type than bergman. for me, it is the better treatment of the story.
