A seriously action-packed wealth of manga-inspired science fiction. Some really great moments of suspense, mystery, and special effects. The downside: the action weaves in and out of unrealistic dramatic moments that slow the film way down and don't make sense.
This was only the first half of a two-parter and the filler really shows. An additional point off for the characters staring down their enemies for days at a time, instead of just shooting their guns.
At the same time, I would love to see the sequel :).
