'Gangster Squad' is a cartoonishly uber-violent 'Untouchables' knockoff, but with 50-60 fewer IQ points. Everyone you think dies does die - usually a violent death. A film this predictable isn't entertaining or fun enough to offset its obvious narrative.
Major leaps of logic or narrative are made just so 'Squad' hits its obligatory plot points. The all-star cast seems in a daze as they go through the motions of an unoriginal gangster flick.
