Review of Gangster Squad (2013) by Aldo C — 23 Feb 2014
Gangster squad is one of those films that is so full of clichés that after while you feel like asking your money back.
Not even the great Sean Penn can save the train wreck that is this film. The filmmakers cant decide if they want to tell the story in a classic film noir way or if they go for the "cool shots" in a Pulp Fiction way.
Either way, the film lacks the style and sophistication of both. The only thing consistent in this flick is the amount of punches that everybody gets. You cannot count until ten before someone gets punched. In the end, even the viewer feels that he has been punched by the incoherence of this film.
