Neither a Londoner nor old enough to have known the gangster era there? If you missed the Blind Beggar pub landlords going away do in 2000 at the Whitechapel boozer made famous by the Kray brothers murdering Jack 'the hat' McVitie (the bullet holes above the bar remained for over 30 years), then this is as close as you'll get to the reality.
