Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Darren J — 25 Oct 2012
Topped with a electrifying performance from Daniel Day-Lewis, this was a very unlike Scorsese, Scorsese film. I thought the Irish accent from Dicaprio took away from his acting and made for a somewhat disapointing (but still good) performance.
I found the art direction was really missing something compared to his earlier films of Casino and GoodFellas but still provided a fruitful endeavour into very early New York history.
