Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Shawn M — 06 Jun 2014
I remembering seeing this film when it first came out, but I don't believe I finished it. Given that I'm a big Scorsese/DiCaprio fan I wanted to watch it again.
Just as I remembered, Daniel Day-Lewis was the highlight performance in this epic. DiCaprio holds his own, but Day-Lewis just shines above. I'm usually not a Cameron Diaz fan, so her performance in this film I believe is her best ever. Given this is DiCaprio and Scorsese's first film together I can see it as a good warm-up for things to come.
