Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York is a wonderful spectacle, with good acting in general, and a great filmmaking. But the real special thing about Gangs of New York is Daniel Day-Lewis. His violent and furious performance as 'The Butcher' is totally earth shaking! After all, Gangs of New York is a terrific movie, but if it wasn't for Daniel Day-Lewis, i'm sure it wouldn't be.
