Review of Gandhi (1982) by Sanford R — 20 Nov 2008
Starts badly, dated and dull, feeling like a history book rather than a character piece. It gets better as it goes on, nothing feels crammed in or rushed, and by the end, as a beloved gandhi nonetheless struggles in vain to prevent violence sweeping the nation as it tears itself apart in religious warfare, it is really quite brilliant.
kingsley is fantastic - overall a fascinating portrait of a fascinating man.
