What to say about the movie, well to begin with we have all heard of this man. We all know his works and good deeds and his ideas. His peaceful revolution brought the British Empire to its knees in India, then his ideals towards not striking back just about brought it all the way down.

The movie starts off with his assasination, then chronicles everything leading up to that until the end with the repeat of the assasination. Gandhi was a lawyer originally and was taught in a school in England.

His immediate problem with being in South Africa was that he was discriminated against because of his skin color. Gandhi was put in jail countless times because even though he never fought back against anybody he broke the laws of the Empire in different ways.

For instance making salt without having a government distributed permit. The biggest thing that I question about the movie is was Gandhi a Muslim or Hindu? Upon numerous occasions he said, "May God go with you".

I was under the impression that he was Hindu which from my studies means that he does not believe in the same god that Muslims believe in. It was one of those things that I questioned throughout the movie trying to decide which it was.

Hindus believe in many gods but one god higher than the others, which indicates that there are many paths to the one destination. Plus they also believe that there is no heaven or hell; samsara is the way until you can escape that cycle.

Hindus believe in God, they just call him allah. There are striking differences to both sets of belief which still makes me question which he followed. Gandhi goes through many many changes on his path to independence from the British Empire, from lawyer to leader is the overview.
