Energetic but assembly-built sci-fi actioner set in a future where the biggest form of entertainment allows users to take control of real prisoners in super violent war games. The toughest soldier in this game is Kable (Gerald Butler) who finds himself being targeted for death by the game's owner and targeted for liberation by an anti-gamer group.

Directors Neveldine/Taylor have never met a weird camera trick they didn't like, and hurl the lens around with reckless abandon over a story that is too familar and too shallow to be interesting, and too rapidly edited to be exciting.

Michael C. Hall (of Dexter fame) seems to be having a lot of fun as the flamboyant evil mastermind, whether it be plotting mayhem or engaging in dance numbers.
