Review of Gamer (2009) by Andrea M — 28 Mar 2012
Although a very gritty, provocative, and generally hard to watch, I appreciate the discussion it presents about violence in the media and the objectivity of the human person. I believe that more films should be made to continue this discussion for a number of different audiences.
There were some other elements I liked about this film: The use of Marilyn Manson's version of "Sweet Dreams", Disney's "Pinocchio" reference, the last ten minutes of the movie, and of course, Gerard Butler.
Not for everyone, not a popcorn movie, but it presents some very real issues.
