Review of Game Night (2018) by Adrian D — 11 Mar 2018
4 Star review:
First great comedy I've seen this year! From start to finish, Game Night gets the audience invested in its characters while whisking them away through an adventure involving real blood, ancient artifacts and a good ole fashioned game night. The main cast of characters all had their time to shine in this film, but it was Jesse Plemons, who got me laughing the most as Gary. The story revolves around Max and Annie and their group of friends who over the years bonded over having game nights with each other. Gary used to be a part of that group until he and his wife divorced, leaving Gary out of the group of friends. One night, Max's rich brother, Brooks, decides to hold a game night that promises to be one they'll never forget. For the sake of not spoiling any of the fun, the craziness only just begins there. For sure, this has been my favorite movie of the year so far.
