Review of Game Change (2012) by Sam A — 09 Jan 2014
Holy hell, if there's one actress who has the stones to humanize the dopey Alaskan governor that everyone 'loves' to hate, it's Julianne Moore. Harris does a seriously good job as McCain but Moore.
.. she deftly handles Palin's trepidatious rise and then eventual mangling of the campaign with a sometimes maddening respect, making me actually rethink my ire towards her and the Republican strategists that mistakenly chose her -- NAH, this movie didn't actually make me change my opinion on that fool-hardy decision, but it definitely advanced my knowledge of just how much craziness she added to one of the highest staked 'games' in the world.
A worthy movie that doesn't quite live up to the real life circus of the 2008 election, but adds depth and character to what most people only know as the "hot" bimbo who destroyed John McCain's chances of winning.
4/5 Definitely worth it, though some may not be able to rewatch Moore enact Palin's most awkward moments... *squirm*.
