Review of Gallivant (1996) by Tom M — 28 Jun 2007
Its hard to categorise this movie as it seems neither one thing or another. Part road movie, part documentary, part art installation. Whilst there is some genuine artistic intent within Gallivant its lost in any form of direction.
No discernible structure but merely a collection of very odd moments on a road trip round the coastline of Britain. Some very nice moments include a nightmarish portrayl of Blackpool and a speeded up POV through Wales.
Yet as a collective piece, Gallivant is ultimatly dissapointing.
