Review of Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life (2010) by Mikko P — 15 Sep 2010
How fun to watch something french again! - It's been awhile.
And not just french, 2 whole hours with dirty ol' Bastard Gainsbourg.
A feast of colours, sounds and decadance.
Being a fan of the music of Gainsbourg I'm really impressed with the sounds of this epic bioi of the man Serge.
Some of the takes of songs actually sounds better then the real stuff, especially the early stuff.
Eric Elmosino does a great part as Serge throughout his complete adult career and he's well accompanied by his own mind in a shape of a hidious doll-like cartoonish version of himself.
So load up with a bottle of congac, 4-5 packs of smokes and get lost,.
Lost in music. Lost in time. Lost in Serge.
