Review of Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life (2010) by Yvan C — 15 Jan 2011

Rather loose biopic of Serge Gainsbourg that dips into various parts of his life, looking at his childhood, music and lovers. There's no great depth to it, but the performances are strong and there's a real style to the film from newcomer Joann Sfar using animation and Doug Jones in an outrageous oversized head to create Gainsbourg's alter-ego.
