Review of Futureworld (1976) by Dann M — 23 Jun 2015
Strange things are afoot once again at the Delos resorts in the Westworld sequel, Futureworld. This time Peter Fonda and Blythe Danner star as two intrepid reports who are send to the Delos theme parks as part of a PR campaign to show off the newly upgraded and improved operations, including the addition of a Futureworld park; but they soon discover that things are a little too efficient and controlled.
While Danner gives a good performance, the rest of the cast is rather bland. And the plot is pretty formulaic, with a lot of standard tropes about robots and evil corporations. A bit of a generic thriller, Futureworld is mundane and unimpressive.
