Review of Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder (2009) by Matthew S — 22 May 2009
This is definitively the weakest of the Futurama movies. It has a stronger over-all narrative than Bender's Game or Bender's Big Score, but it provides nothing as far as character moments, which are one of the reasons that Futurama the show is such a fantastic success.
Even worse, the ending provides an absolutely insulting ending to the Fry/Leela love story, sacrificing this cornerstone of the show's appeal at the alter of a joke aimed at overblown cliffhanger endings; a not particularly funny or insightful lampoon at that.
It's only saving grace is the comedy still provides laughs.
