Review of Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder (2009) by Chris C — 24 May 2009
Another hilarious and throught-provoking social commentary delivered by Futurama! As an ecological consultant, I found myself rolling with laughter as Farsnworth makes a total mockery of the profession, and having petitioned the development of Trump's golf course on the protected wildlife areas in Aberdeen, Scotland, this film had very personal connections for me, no doubt making it all the funnier.
However, there is the same blend of subtle (and not-so-subtle) digs at current politics, environment, and sci-fi and fantasy fiction as ever. I think this film matches the first in brilliance (while I found the middle two lacking slightly in depth).
Highly recommended, and poignant end to the series (?).
