Review of Futurama: Bender's Big Score (2007) by Eddie M — 23 May 2008
A combination of unashamed fan service and trying much to hard to rehash old formulas makes for a poor comeback movie. Like Pirates 2, it suffers from the same syndrome of "Lets try to cram everything people like about the first one into places where it doesn't work and isn't original anymore".
For example, people loved the song and dance routines in the series like "Robot Hell". Here, they are forced into places where they don't belong and poorly done at that. It will please hardcore fans for whom the mere reference to a Futurama moment is funny, but no one else.
Here's hoping the next one will get over this self-loving crap and be better.
