Review of Fury (2014) by Scottgentile — 27 Oct 2014
This movie doesn't just fail on authenticity, but it fails on common sense. What a waste as it clearly aims and succeeds on some levels creating the gritty realism of war, but when will some film makers figure out that you need to have Rambo style combat to entertain the masses. You can have both.
Another aspect that can be a bit painful to watch was perhaps explained when I saw in the credits "Executive Producer: Brad Pitt." I have enjoyed some of Brad Pitt's acting over the years (Moneyball), but this explains a lot as his character was just a bit too perfect and one dimensional. My reaction to this movie was very similar to that of Word War Z – yawn...
Fury will not stand the test of time and it will be just another forgotten war movie.
