Review of Fury (2014) by Joules L — 20 Jul 2015
This film is one of the better films I have seen in a while. I keep seeing the same old format over and over again. They are normally disjointed and fail to grasp attention due to mass production. This film however grabbed me from the start.
I was drawn in by the gritty realism of the filmography and the characters who were either repulsive or genuinely likeable. It is rare that my full attention can be held but this enveloped me in the gruesome nature of war which is something I detest about humans.
Some people have criticised the film saying that they were left feeling like "what is the point". I think the point is that war is a process through which some are lucky to survive and are left feeling detached from what they lived for so long when they are removed from a situation which they shared with their unit.
They are left to carry the burden of what they have done and seen.
